Human Physiology and Biochemistry

About Department

The Physiology Department is involved in imparting training to undergraduate medical students.

The Department boasts of state of art facilities including Clinical Physiology Lab, Biochemistry Lab, and well equipped Departmental Library with sufficient books, models and descriptive charts.

We encourage the students to develop their practical and clinical skills in scientific study of normal mechanisms and their interactions within a living system.

The Department of Physiology is taught in FIRST BHMS as per NCH norms.

The curriculum includes interactive lectures, group discussions, practicals, tutorials, and seminars as per CBDC guidelines.

Mission

  • The mission of Physiology & Biochemistry in Homoeopathy is to provide a scientific foundation for understanding health and disease, aid accurate symptom interpretation, and integrate Homoeopathic principles with modern biomedical knowledge—ensuring a holistic yet scientifically grounded approach to patient care.
  • The teaching of Physiology and Biochemistry provides students with a sound scientific understanding of normal human functions and biochemical processes that form the basis for recognizing deviations in health and disease.
  • Understanding of human body functions at systemic, cellular, and molecular levels.
  • Correlation of physiological and biochemical principles with clinical manifestations.
  • Integration of scientific knowledge with the Homoeopathic concept of the vital force.
  • Interpretation of laboratory findings and effective communication with other healthcare professionals.
  • Strengthening the scientific credibility of Homoeopathy.

Vision

  • The vision of Physiology & Biochemistry in the BHMS curriculum is to provide a strong scientific foundation of normal human body functions, enabling holistic interpretation of disease and rational application of Homoeopathic principles.
  • Bridge modern biomedical science with Homoeopathic philosophy.
  • Develop analytical thinking and scientific reasoning.
  • Support clinical subjects like Pathology, Materia Medica, and Organon.
  • Promote holistic patient care with scientific objectivity.
  • Encourage research orientation and evidence-based practice.
